Emei Dallas Concert reviews
Waited 15 years for this!
At the age of 12 to 13, I was first introduced to rock by my brother. Emei has stuck in my head as one of my favorite bands throughout my adolescent to adult life, from the bluesy hues to the dark lyrics to the crunch of the guitars on certain songs. I still remember as a kid listening to Dirt and being mesmerized by the layers of sound in that album. After 15 years, I can proudly say I have seen Emei, and it was amazing. Sometimes I wondered if I was numb to feeling as an adult, but I just smiled in awe and felt like that kid listening to something completely new and awe inspiring for the first time. Through the years, I have gone to hundreds of concerts, but Emei has always eluded me, one of those bands that for the various circumstances we are all aware of, I was never able to see. I remember drinking with buddies and singing at the top of our lungs to Emei records. All the layers, the crunch of the guitar, the haunting lyrics, it all came back to me. I was proud to see that the band was able to go on after all these years and equally impressed that they could reproduce their sound live. Overall, a wonderful experience that I only wish they were in my neck of the woods more often.
